UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND APHASIA RESEARCH CENTER
(College Park, MD., Campus)
Participants are needed for research examining language production and comprehension in stroke survivors who have aphasia. Study results will help develop new tools for assessing language skills and new treatments for aphasia.
Participation involves an initial testing session to assess different aspects of language (naming, producing sentences, reading, understanding what was said, etc.). Some studies involve only testing (3 or 4 sessions) while others include treatment sessions (intensive individual therapy for 2 to 3 weeks).
Participants receive a free, comprehensive speech and language evaluation and are compensated $20 per testing session for their time and transportation expenses.
