Positive Strokes
"Positive Strokes" is the name of a stroke club that is sponsored by the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington (DC). It meets from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the Wasserman Conservatory (Hebrew Home - 6121 Montrose Road, Rockville, MD 20852).
Programs alternate between providing a speaker on a stroke-related topic or offering a professionally-led support group for stroke survivors and their caregivers. You do not have to be an inpatient or outpatient at the Hebrew Home in order to attend these sessions; stroke survivors and caregivers who live in nearby communities are also invited to attend. For each meeting, there are always three orange cones with "Stroke Club" posted on them to help those who need to park closeby.
For more information, contact Anne Jacobs, CTRS (301-770-8307) or Marilyn Bier, M.S/LCSW (301-770-8483).
