Mission Statement
MCSA’s dual mission is (1) to provide and promote programs and services that offer stroke education, professional and peer support, rehabilitation, recreation, and socialization for stroke survivors, their family members, and other caregivers living in or near Montgomery County, Maryland; and (2) to increase stroke awareness in the community.

MCSA INVITES YOU TO ATTEND OUR FREE October 2024 PROGRAMS:
MCSA’s STROKE SUPPORT GROUP: 3rd Thursday, October 17, 3:00-4:00 p.m. E.T.
This is MCSA’s monthly virtual support group for stroke survivors and family caregivers. Ask questions, discuss stroke experiences, offer support to each other, and share helpful suggestions and resources. Free. Meeting invitations and reminders will be emailed. See page 5.
CHAIR YOGA WITH REGINE: Wednesday, October 23, 11 a.m. – 12 noon Eastern Time.
Join us for deep breathing and gentle stretching that can be done when sitting in a chair. Virtual classes via Zoom. Free. Invitations will be emailed at appropriate times. See page 4.
MCSA’s Board of Directors meets via Zoom on the 2nd Thursday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Eastern Time. If you want to join the Board, let MCSA know by sending an email to mcstroke@comcast.net.
OCTOBER 29 is WORLD STROKE DAY
Be a “stroke ambassador” by spreading the word about stroke. Let you friends, relatives, neighbors, and co-workers know the risk factors for stroke, ways to reduce that risk, warning signs of a stroke, and the urgent need to call 9-1-1 to report a stroke. See page 9 for Stroke Awareness information.
